Information service for Vietnamese migrants in the Czech Republic / Better Information for Better Migration (2011–2012)

The Ústí nad Labem Region has the second largest Vietnamese population in the Czech Republic after Prague. However, while in the capital city there are a number of organizations working with foreigners, the Ústí nad Labem Region offers very few services to migrants. Klub Hanoi has implemented a project focused specifically on Vietnamese clients in the region, namely in Chomutov: We have trained more Czech-Vietnamese intercultural assistants, opened a legal counselling office and provided fieldwork counselling and assistance with authorities. The project also included a research focusing on the socio-economic situation and problems of the Vietnamese community; it was the first research of this kind carried out in the region.

The project was implemented with the support of the Open Society Fund Prague.
